Applies to all cakes and all orders, including weddings, catered events, celebration cakes, and store purchases.
All Sales Final After Acceptance
Because all products are custom and perishable, no refunds will be issued once an order has been picked up, delivered, signed for, or otherwise accepted. Once the product leaves Raleigh Cakes’ possession or is signed for at delivery, responsibility transfers to the customer.
Artistic Variations and Design Interpretation
All custom cakes are created by hand. Minor variations are normal and expected and are not considered defects. This includes, but is not limited to:
Color variation due to lighting, edible pigments, mixing techniques, humidity, and screen differences
Natural variation in piping, florals, sculpting, and handmade decorative elements
Small placement changes made to maintain structural integrity and visual balance
Inspiration photos are used as design guidance. Raleigh Cakes does not guarantee exact replicas and reserves the right to interpret designs to maintain structural integrity and aesthetic balance.
Flavor, Texture, and Preference
Taste, sweetness level, texture, and stylistic preference are subjective. Disliking the flavor profile, sweetness level, density, or texture is not grounds for a refund, credit, payment reversal, or chargeback, provided the product conforms to the written order description.
Damage and Handling
Raleigh Cakes is not responsible for damage occurring after pickup or acceptance, including damage caused by third party transport, improper handling, refrigeration issues, humidity, heat exposure, or failure to follow care instructions. If damage occurs during Raleigh Cakes delivery, it must be noted at the time of delivery and documented immediately.
Material Errors and Remedies
If Raleigh Cakes makes a clear and verifiable material error, Raleigh Cakes will determine a reasonable remedy. Raleigh Cakes distinguishes between minor variations and material errors.
Minor variations are small artistic differences that do not materially impact the intended presentation, structure, or overall design, including slight shade differences, minor piping inconsistencies, small placement adjustments, or proportion differences. Minor variations do not qualify for refund or credit.
Material errors are clear deviations from the written order agreement that substantially alter the contracted product, such as wrong flavor, incorrect size or tier count, major design omission due to Raleigh Cakes oversight, confirmed inscription misspelling despite written approval, or structural instability caused by production error.
For confirmed material errors caused solely by Raleigh Cakes, remedies may include repair if time permits, replacement of the affected portion, partial refund proportional to the affected portion, or store credit. Remedies will reflect only the portion of the order directly affected. Full refunds are not automatic and are reserved only when the entire product is materially unusable due solely to a confirmed Raleigh Cakes error.
All claims must be reported within twenty-four (24) hours of pickup or delivery. The product must remain substantially intact for evaluation, meaning at least eighty percent (80%) of the product remains unused.
Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
Payment of any retainer, deposit, or balance constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of the terms of this agreement. If a payment dispute or chargeback is initiated, Raleigh Cakes may submit this agreement, payment records, correspondence, and production documentation to the payment processor as evidence of authorization and acceptance.
